Role and Department Overview

Corporate & Investment Banking delivers a comprehensive suite of capital markets, banking, and financial products and services. A trusted partner to our clients, we provide corporate and transactional banking; commercial real estate lending and servicing; investment banking; equity; and fixed income solutions including sales, trading, and research capabilities to corporate, commercial real estate, government, and institutional clients across the globe.

The role is in the Subscription Finance (“SF”) team that sits within the Asset Management vertical of CIB’s Financial Institutions group, and provides financing to private equity funds and asset managers through structured credit facilities.

The Collateral Management & Reporting Analyst role involves working with the portfolio management team of the SF business to ensure seamless surveillance and consumption of ongoing client reporting. It includes review of client documents, compiling and validating regular daily/weekly/monthly reports, undertaking financial statement review, and updating internal excel templates and workflow tools among other tasks. A successful candidate will work closely with SF’s global team members located in Charlotte (North Carolina), Bangalore, New York, Los Angeles and London. The role involves significant opportunities to learn, develop and work as an integral member of the business.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

Manage a workflow tool used by SF team members to review and process communication (e.g., compliance reporting, funding requests, etc.) from clients
Contribute to the team’s overall portfolio management & surveillance activities
Check specified websites on a recurring schedule to download financial statements
Review clients’ financial statements and spread the financial statements accurately into standardized templates
Be a point of contact for SF’s coverage bankers and members of the Collateral Management team for questions about the receipt of client information deliverables
Review borrowing bases submitted by clients in connection with funding requests, collateral pool changes, and other periodic reporting requirements. Also review numbers reported by clients in excel files against those being tracked in an internal system
Ongoing management of a proprietary portfolio management application which includes a collateral database, borrowing base calculations, transaction-specific information screens, and reporting tools
Develop and maintain process guides / SOPs for key tasks to ensure there is clear documentation explaining how to complete reoccurring processes

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate or Master Degree in Accounting, Finance, Operations Research, Economics or CA Inter
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in the banking domain
Strong communication skills – both verbal and written. Ability to clearly & concisely speak on complex topics

Desired Qualification:

Experience using Excel to perform data analysis and/or modeling, as well as to organize/summarize/present data
Strong attention to detail
An ability to navigate and interpret loan legal documentation is preferred
High level of personal motivation, strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively work across continents
Ability to work as a team player in a dynamic, fast-paced, results-oriented, and collaborative work environment and juggle a variety of tasks (time management skills are important)
