Job Role Description
As a Manager of the Global Messaging/Embargo Filtering Operations unit, the person will be responsible for providing centralized services relating to Filtering/Messaging and support functions to Deutsche Bank branches globally.

Your key responsibilities
Hotscan is a filtering application which all incoming and outgoing payments and messages against the list of SDN (Special Designated Names).
Embargo Filtering team/Hotscan performs the following sub process in DBOI for all locations :-
Hotscan Review and Release of messages
First Level and Second Level review and release of false positive messages in Hotscan. If there is a potential true hit, respective compliance will provide approval to release/cancel the message
Hotscan Database Maintenance
As a Team manager of the Hotscan unit, the person will be responsible for providing centralized services relating to Hotscan and support functions to Deutsche Bank branches globally. The TM is responsible for interacting with Global teams and Customer Service Officers to provide a high quality of service to the internal and external clients and meet the agreed and expected service standards.
Provide adequate information during system issues to IT and Global owner for resolution.
Participate on the Issue related call and take decision or check out in system when IT makes changes
Manage staff on a daily basis, distribute work, assign responsibilities, ensure appropriate staff motivation levels and continuous learning
Keep all operational guidelines updated and ensure adherence to standards, procedures and also identify risk mitigations wherever there is a control issue
Conduct regular operational performance reviews and participate in monthly self-assessments
Effectively manage risk and foster an environment where team is fully aware of Operational Risk management.
Work closely with other internal teams on upcoming projects, assignments and initiatives
Ensure performance of staff meet or exceed expectations
Participate in cross process initiatives which are formulated to create or improve existing processes
Cross train available resources to ensure 100% backup within the areas under control
Escalate all issues properly, in time, to the appropriate level, to avoid any adverse impact on the business
Assisting the team in decision making and taking complete ownership of the situation
Primarily review stopped messages and take a decision on them (either pass or investigate), based on limited set of rules provided and maintained by AFC.
Record rationale for decision from pre-defined set of options.
Seek feedback from more senior investigators/reviewers, where their decisions fail the four-eye control.
Provide support feedback loop and filter optimization by identifying repeat mismatches to propose e.g. Good Guys.
Use user access privileges only for authorised purposes; actively safeguard sensitive and confidential information.
Training & Development
Participate Trainings such as on HotScan, Sanctions policies, L1 procedures, specific payment types, including structure / form of messages.

Familiarity with the Sanctions & Embargo
Knowledge of Swift / Payments
Risk and Regulatory
Knowledge of Payment Cycle
SWIFT Knowledge viz. Interface, Clearing system, Message Type
Effective written and spoken communication skills in English
