Overview of the role :
Data Services team is a shared service team that provides key functional capabilities such as self-service reporting, self-service data analytics, risk analytics, operational reconciliation, and integration of core processes with deployed machine learning models. We are enhancing our team and looking for a junior Business Analyst to work with us as we transform our Clearance and Collateral Technology (CCT) group into a data driven organization. The Collateral & Clearance Technology group is responsible for building high-performance critical market platforms. The group designs, builds and supports the platform used for US Triparty Repo and Global Collateral Services solutions. This service has 85% of the US Triparty Repo business with $2.7trn of assets globally. This group supports the most critical client-facing services for BNY Mellon.
Role Description:
As a Business Analyst you will engage with senior Operations, Compliance, legal stakeholders and vendors as well as with technology leads within Clearance and Collateral Technology and beyond.
Responsibilities:
Document business/functional requirements, perform gap analysis, design systems flows, and manage UAT activities leading to production release.
Translate business requirements into technical requirements
Analyze data and perform ad-hoc analysis.
Understand upstream/feeder applications and data
Develop systems specifications.
Works or multitasks on multiple regulatory and non-regulatory workstreams from inception through implementation.
Help take projects from inception to execution, defining initial plan and actively managing on-going delivery
Ensure that business outcomes are achieved and that full stakeholder buy-in is ensured
Work with the business to structure different business requirements into a prioritized set of requirements, with estimates
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business or technical-related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred
Technical background with knowledge of SDLC, XML and ability to write SQL queries
Technical acumen – ability to equally work with software engineers and developers
Very good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact with business & legal & compliance
Strong knowledge of MS Office, MS Project and Visio
Experience working with waterfall and agile development methodologies a plus
Basic understanding of any programming language is a strong plus
